Frequently asked questions
- Is Memorycard free?
- Memorycard is free to download and use on iOS, Android, and the web. There are no ads.
- What platforms is Memorycard on?
- Memorycard is available on iOS, Android, and the web. All three share the same account and stay in sync, so you can log a game on your phone and pick it up in a browser.
- Does Memorycard have a web version?
- Memorycard has a full web version at memorycard.gg, not a limited companion site. You can track games, rate and review, build lists, post, and follow people from any browser, with a desktop layout built for larger screens.
- How is Memorycard different from other game trackers?
- Memorycard is built around sharing what you play rather than clearing a backlog. It combines rating and reviewing with a social feed, so you can follow people, see what they are playing, and post about games as you go. It is closer to Letterboxd or Goodreads than to a checklist app.
- Can I import my Steam library?
- Memorycard can import your Steam library and your Steam wishlist, under Settings, then Account, then Import games. Your existing library stays as it is, and imported games arrive as a private list you can add from.
- How many games are in the Memorycard database?
- Memorycard's catalog has over 366,000 games, covering both current and retro platforms. New and newly announced titles are added automatically.
- Can I filter and browse the catalog?
- Memorycard's browse page lets you filter every game by genre, platform, player mode, release year, and time to beat, then sort by rating, popularity, or release date. You can also search directly or take a short quiz to get recommendations.
- Does Memorycard recommend games?
- Memorycard gives you personalized recommendations based on the games in your library. They appear on the Discover page and refresh every other week. If you are just starting out, a short quiz can suggest games before you have a library built up.
- Can I log a game more than once?
- Memorycard supports multiple playthroughs of the same game. Each play session is recorded with its own dates in your Play history, and every game has a Timeline page showing your full history with it.
- Can I use Memorycard by myself?
- Memorycard works fully solo. You can set your profile to private, hide it from search entirely, and track games without following anyone. The social features are optional.
- Can I export my data?
- You can export your entire Memorycard library at any time. Your data is yours and you are not locked in.
- What is Game of the Month?
- Game of the Month is a game chosen at the start of every month for Memorycard users to play together. Set it to Playing during that month and you get a GOTM badge on your Timeline entry for that game.
- Does Memorycard track playtime automatically?
- Memorycard does not track playtime automatically and does not connect to your console to watch what you play. You log games yourself, which is deliberate. The record is what you chose to write down.
